The Emergency Coordination Centre (ECC) is planning a National Conversation on the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus 7-8th June 2018 in Abuja. As part of this important event, the Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF) hereby invites you to a side event:
The NGO/ CSO side event for the National Conversation on the Humanitarian Development Peace Nexus.
Wednesday 6 June 2018| 0830 - 1430 hrs
Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria
The side event will bring together International NGOs and National NGOs/CSOs to discuss thematic issues related to the humanitarian development peace nexus (HDPN). (See attached note for more information).
The HDPN is a global framework which brings together humanitarian, development and peacebuilding actors in support of ‘collective outcomes’ that reduce risk and vulnerability. The side event will be an opportunity for civil society to discuss affected populations in the North-East, Middle Belt and Niger Delta and what we can do collectively to respond better in order to reduce harm and vulnerabilities as we look towards achieving the SDGs.
The NIF has always maintained a position that the nexus conversation should be led and driven by contextual realities and inputs from National NGOs and civil society stakeholders.
Please confirm your attendance by replying this email no later than COB Friday 25th May 2018. More information about the program and confirmed speakers will be sent out in due course.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and we do hope that you will join us at this important event.
